ABOUT ME
I am K.RICHARD FERDINAND,PRT of
KENDRIYA VIDYALAYA DGQA PALAVANTHANGAL,
I want to share my views
BRIEF PROFILE OF SELF
I joined in KVS in the year 1995, as PRT.
The NCF-2005 believes that children are born with capacity and skills to learn
language. These inborn capacities grow spontaneously in a positive environment
where children are encouraged to speak and write.
“Technology
is just a tool. In terms of getting the kids working together and motivating
them, the teacher is most important” - Bill Gates – founder of Microsoft
In today’s competitive world every parents
wants their child to top the list at any cost and in the bargain the child has
to lose his/her childhood pleasures though childhood just comes once in a
lifetime. So let’s analyze our education system and find out ways and means to
develop a new model system to help the child grow naturally in every positive
way. It would be much more beneficial to the society and to the individual
certainly.
The teacher can make more things in a
class to make the class different one in the school if he/she thinks
creatively. The challenge to current educational system for the feature is to
prepare learners to participate in a knowledge society. So I teach the entire
lesson through activity method. Activity based learning is a child centered
method of learning, When the student can learn at their own pace through the
activities, they like using different colourful learning cards in a free
environment without any compulsion or fear.
In order to create interest in a primary
school, the new method of teaching should always be under consideration. So I
use Concept map technology for the entire lesson. Through this method they show
interest active participation and co-operation.
ICT contributed effectively
to pupils’ personal development by encouraging
independent and co-operative working. Pupils worked together at computers.
On the whole, pupils were very supportive of one another when using ICT;
collaborated well, listened carefully helped one another to solve the problems.
I captured all the activities of the
classroom and displayed it. This motivated the children a lot. The photos were
edited using window movie maker technology and the same activity was shown to
the children in the audio visual room. Children enjoyed their own activities
and came forward to participate in all the activities and got interest in the, subjects.
In this way I enhanced ICT knowledge and
skills. Using this ICT I made learning much more fun instead of usual boring
classes. I made the class more interesting by involving all the children in the
class. I used the digital video camera as a part of everyday classroom
activity. It increases the motivation to learn, engagement in learning and
their independence in learning. As a result, technology has become more
integrated into classroom teaching. Students have expressed that they want to
use technology and expect it to be part of learning.
